July 9th is a very special day for the country because it celebrates a new anniversary of Independence Day that was declared in the Congress of Tucumán in 1816. The Declaration of Independence was a sovereign and collective act. The historic Tucumán Congress of 1816 brought together deputies who met and debated every day for many months to project a new nation. It was in the province of Tucumán where the first guidelines of what would later be the Argentine Republic were drawn up.
